Brooklyn Circus will be releasing two Varsity Jackets for Holiday 2009. One of them comes in all black, the other one comes in navy with off-white sleeves and orange accents, our personal favorite. The jackets will be released in December at both the NY and SF stores.
Freshjive’s well-researched and literature-backed social commentary continue on with the upcoming release of their “Hope is Fading Fast” t-shirt. Officially set to also usher in the new “logo-less” Freshjive, the t-shirt is a bold statement on the current (or lack therefor of) change initiated by President Barack Obama. Details of Freshjive’s own reasonings can be seen at their The World’s Got Problems column. The t-shirt will be available at select retailers at the Freshjive Reserve store in Fairfax, Los Angeles.
With Black Friday taking place towards the end of this week, A Bathing Ape’s US locations will release a a limited edition Black Friday Full-Zip Shark Hoodie. The piece’s design isn’t anything ground-breaking by any means but given the usual visibility of the Shark motif from Bape, it’s much more understated. The hoodie will drop at BAPE STORE Los Angeles and New York at 11:00 am and subsequently online at US.Bape.com.
After just announcing their partnership with Japanese brand Visvim for a line called Moncler V, the classic outerwear label now brings news of a collection by Grammy-winning musician Pharrell Williams. The collection features an assortment of all-black jackets, and includes a “pacifist” version of the bulletproof jacket (pictured) with Velcro-ed side slits, reversible matte/shiny down vests and elongated puffers.
Each jacket is built with textiles from Bionic Yarn, a Pharrell controlled company that produces fabric from recycled plastic bottles. Furthermore, printed linings feature images of lush forests, shot at dusk by Japanese artist Keita Sugiura. Prices and distribution details are yet to be finalized.
Hype Means Nothing presents their latest series of t-shirts, this time working with iconic artists Warhol and Basquiat. The special Warhol vs. Basquiat tees will come out on November 16th, exclusively at colette.
Already considered the epitomy of luxurious sportswear to many, Y-3 kicks things up a notch with their Sport Luxury collection. The men’s line features some new levels of execution for accessories featuring some high-quality materials as the focal point. The collection will be available at select Y-3 flagship stores and retailers.
A Bathing Ape team up with Hong Kong based label Chocoolate on a new set of collaborative items which will see a launch within their 6-day pop-up store opening. Included are tees, caps, and mugs as well as a special edition gold set featuring one of each items in a black/gold color scheme. All of the items will see a release on November 7th.
In4mation’s November special tee is a redrawn version of the classic Medusa icon from Crooks & Castles. The shirt features an In4mation twist, with hand styles and dual branding. As with each special monthly t-shirt from In4mation, these are printed in a limited run. Now available at the Ward and Pearlridge In4mation shops.

To compliment their Rod Laver release in association with adidas Originals, Canada’s GDFT recently released a matching varsity jacket. The use of wool on the Rod Laver collaboration joints make for a more than suitable transfer to a varsity jacket. The jacket’s subdued design incorporates patches denoting GDFT as well as an embroidery signifying the adidas and GDFT partnership. The jacket is available now at GDFT.
While Fila might not exactly be taking the footwear game by storm these days, some of us remember a time when the brand was putting out some of the freshest gear around. Back in the eighties and early nineties, Fila was a streetwear favorite long before the term “streetwear” really even existed. Known for their simple styles and Italian flavor, Fila shoes and sweatsuits were a hot commodity. Recently the brand decided to bring back some of their classic styles in traditional OG color schemes, along with some matching apparel that really stirs up the Fila nostalgia. In addition to classic sneaker models like the Original Classic Tennis and Fitness, Fila has also come correct with some fresh gear that also throws it back to the good old days. 180g revisits Nike for a new collection of custom died pieces. The Parisian dye house created an wide array of custom colored sneakers using washed silk, leathers, and mineral flakes for an athletic look. The Air Flytop and Tennis Classic both get ample play alongside other styles, while each pair sports contrast colored laces, reptile applications and more. The launch of this collection takes place Thursday, November 5th at 180g.

He will be happy to answer any and all your questions about our vintage section and product offering. Vintage is characterized by excellence, maturity and enduring appeal. Classic – timeless, Timeless – ageless, Ageless – continual: The BKc. The word “vintage” was originally used to describe wine aging. The term later transported its way into defining clothing of another era. Vintage isn’t always second-hand, there are a small percentage of items stored away that have never been worn which are referred to as “dead-stock”. The idea of vintage is often confused with “retro” which is derived from “retrospective” which is clothing between the 1960’s and 80’s. We primarily focus on vintage from the 1920’s-50’s and also antiques from that era.
Vintage purists say that there must be a long lasting value beyond the time the piece was created. “An understanding of the past, taken apart and polished can spearhead you to the future successfully”, Bevin Elias. The BKc Style and Character and The Hundred Year Plan . . .
For the holiday season, Mishka is offering three different styles of pants appropriate for the changing elements of winter. First up is the Alexei Japanese Selvage Denim in indigo, black, grey and brown; followed by the tex-twill Chambray blend Scout Work Pant, and last but not least; the Dmitri Wool Slacks in a slender, 12 ounce wool blend (pictured above). We know the magenta tab is a but much for some, but Mishka makes a good pant. Try ‘em on if you have a chance.
Altamont offers a look into some of their Holiday 2009 jackets. Styles range from a perforated hooded jacket with fleece lining to a cotton coated water-resistant twill heavyweight insulated military parka, and a twill military hooded jacket with custom printed lining. Each piece features an Altamont trim package.
Levi’s Japan worked with KRINK on a capsule collection. The collection spans over denim, denim jackets, a hoodie, as well as a couple of t-shirts. The collection will be launched at Cinch Toyko on November 14th along with a special installation by Craig Costello aka KR.
K online retailer, FUSShop has just received Edwin’s classic ED-47 jeans in rainbow selvage. These are hard to come by and are quick to sell out. They still have a lot of sizes available so get yours before they’re gone. mash rating: 8/10
Here we get a look at a new jacket for the coming cold months from Nike Sportswear. Their new varsity jacket features such details as a wool body, Thermacore insulation, two front pockets, chest pocket with contrasting waterproof zipper, and a hidden inside pocket with a zipper. Crooks & Castles teamed up with young French BMX label Stereo Panda on a limited release varsity jacket. The jacket is done in a nice black and white colorway with a blue satin lining and a number of collaborative embroideries – most notably Crooks’ Medusa logo wearing a Stereo Panda logo bandana. Shepard Fairey’s Obey clothing brand teams up with Levi’s on an upcoming capsule. This marks another collaborative venture from Levi’s who recently has sourced other notables in the realm of fashion and art. The collection includes various pieces inspired by Fairey’s own experiences with Levi’s denim. The collection includes two pairs of denim in the 511 and 514 cut, two denim jackets, a flannel shirt and three t-shirts. With Halloween fast approaching, Johnny Cupcakes have released a new set of t-shirts to match the occasion. There are a total of six tees available online in both men’s and women’s sizes.
Today we can announce the upcoming project between Levi’s and Obey by Shepard Fairey. The collaboration spans over a small capsule collection, which consists of denim, shirts and graphic t-shirts. Each piece has been hand-customized and original artwork has been created specifically for this collaborative project. On top of that each product has been worn to give it intentionally a unique look and feel. The collection will be released on October 29th, with only a handful of stores getting the full collection. Hopefully we can soon show you more.
Bape has produced limited release denim models exclusive to each of the New York and Los Angeles flagship stores. The jeans feature a colorful BAPE print across the back pockets and are said to come in both raw and distressed versions. The Shop Color Print Denim drops this Saturday, October 17th. Only available at each respective store location.
UPDATE: Earlier today we posted some images from the long-rumored Pastelle by Kanye West collection. Although pieces have been seen worn by Kanye West during several public appearances (such as the 2008 AMA Awards), Pastelle will never be released. That’s right. We’ve received official word that Pastelle will not be coming out. Ever. That said, Kanye West will release a collection under his own name in the near future. Stay tuned.
Believe or not, ladies, I am just now getting around to posting images I took at Magic, which was, oh, only a million years ago (can I get a hello from my working-hard, single Mommies who this delay makes TOTAL sense to?). Anyway, it doesn’t matter cuz I took like a grand total of three pictures while I was there so no big loss. This one is from The Orginators tee shirt collection. It’s actually not called Jump Mama, but I can’t remember it’s real name and my memory is telling me that’s close enough. I love it, but I just want it to be femmed up a little more with maybe a lighter weight cotton and a collar that allows for the possibility of some cleavage exposure.
Bringing back some of that Andre Agassi nostalgia, Nike produces a Challenge Court Varsity Jacket, featuring a design and colorway following that of the classic clothing line worn by the tennis superstar in the late 80s and through the 90s. Details include various commemorative patches, a fluorescent splatter front, and logo applique on the back. Retail is set at $450.
Our friends from BKRW Paris have send over some pics of the first delivery of their Fall 2009 Collection. They present the 3rd edition of the Black Rainbow Varsity Jacket. This time they went with a black/black colorway with colorful accents and collar, but the jacket overall keeps a subtle appearance.
