Rumored Summer 2010 Jordan Releases

Whispers have hit the blogosphere concerning Summer 2010 Jordan releases. All of these releases have yet to be confirmed but let’s hope that these kicks drop as they’ll provide plenty summer heat without the sweat. Kanye West x Spike Jonze “We Were Once a Fairytale” Short Film

The supremely talented filmmaker Spike Jonze will reunite with Kanye West on an upcoming short film titled “We Were Once a Fairy Tale”. The two well-known personalities in their respective industries of music and film hadpreviously worked together on Kanye West’s Flashing Lights video. The “We Were Once a Fairytale” short film will be available on iTunes starting September 8th.

The Louis Vuitton 5th Avenue flagship store in New York City has put up a very interesting new window display. They basically tell the story of the iconic LV Speedy bag with a conveyor belt installation. Check it out!

Goyard London Store Coming Soon

We get a look at the soon to come Goyard London Store. For now the facade of the store is wrapped in a giant Goyard trunk. After the French brand was concentrating on Asian expansion with stores in recent years, London marks their first European flagship store after the original store in Paris.

Bape Store Launch Party London

Over the weekend we reported about the renewed Bape Store London. The store got an interior upgrade and after previously being a Busy Work Shop, has now become a full Bape Store. Of course the occasion was properly celebrated. Nigo and Pharrell came out to party with the London folks at Disco 24 and it sure looked like a good night.

Introducing SneakerListing, a new and unique method to buy or sell sneakers.  Created by the same folks who brought you the Sneakers Application on Facebook. SneakerListing, dubbed “the worldwide marketplace for sneakers”, is an online application that posed to change the way sneaker fans conduct search of sellers or submit listings of their own.  Think of it as an intelligent classified section that devotes solely to the culture of sneakers.

The site is set to officially launch in early August but you can head on over now for the pre-launch sign up.  However, pre-launch registration will not open for too long, so visit soon.

Michael Jackson RIP

The internet has been abuzz with the unfortunate passing of Michael Jackson. One of our generations greatest performers and fully worthy of his title as the “King of Pop”, his legacy will be remembered and carried on for years to come. As Benny Gold put it in a talk I had with him this morning, Michael Jackson is undoubtedly our generation’s Elvis Presley. While he hasn’t been in the limelight or making music as of late (but was set to embark on a tour), his work speaks volumes about his impact on the world as we know it. RIP MJ

Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People In Business” | Kaws, Pharrell

Fast Company magazine has published their new list of the 100 most creative people in business. Some folks that regularly make it into our news also made the list, including Kaws, Pharrell Williams, Damien Hirst. As much as we have always liked the work of Kaws, it still impresses us over and over again of how widely known and respected the artist has become in recent years. It’s very impressive and well deserved.

Kanye West Starting Sneaker Company

Two Fridays ago Kanye West and GLC appeared on BET’s 106 and Park to discuss music, upcoming projects, and the Nike Air Yeezy. While we reported on Friday that he proclaimed that Kanye had the hood in mind when designing the $215 Nike Air Yeezys and the $800+ Louis Vuitton sneakers, he did drop a little hint of an upcoming sneaker line that wasn’t previously discussed.

Speaking about his interview in Complex Magazine about the Nike Air Yeezy, Kanye stated the following:

“I wish Nike would give me a deal, I wish Louis would give me a deal. Since that hasn’t happened yet, I am in the process of making my own company from scratch to put out to my people.”

At this point we will have to wait to see what will come of this, but this sounds like an interesting move for Kanye.

Kanye West To Launch Denim Label

According to UK’s Mirror, Kanye West met up with denim brand Religion to talk about his upcoming denim label. At this point we are not sure whether that just concerns the denim for his upcoming Pastelle label, if it is a Religion collaboration or a brand by itself. Judging by the sound of the Mirror’s article, it seems like it will be a brand by itself. Kanye has definitely been wearing lots of denim and denim jackets lately, so this does not come entirely as a surprise.

Hopefully we can tell you soon more about this subject and let’s hope that one of these “labels” will also launch any time soon.

UPDATE: Turns out this was wrong information spread by the Mirror. Kanye denies the rumor here.

Gourmet: New Website Live

After a brief hiatus, Gourmet have returned with a newly revamped website. The design is very clean, and minimal. The entire Spring/Summer collection including all accessoriess have also been added to the site. Besides the blog, stockists, etc… the biggest addition to the site is no doubt the online shop, which has been an issue for many who have been looking to get some Gourmet of their own.

Justice & SO ME x Club Coke 2009

Ed Banger Records SO ME and Justice hooked up to create this special bottle design in celebration of the new Club Coke. The bottle will officially this Wednesday February 11th, at the VIP Room in Paris. Justice will also be holding a special DJ session at midnight during the event.

BBC | Ice Cream x Gorilli Concept Store

In a first for Dutch market, BBC | Ice Cream is teaming up with Rotterdam’s Gorilli Concept Store for the launch of BBC | Ice Cream’s presence in Holland. The event featuring the likes of Pharrell Williams and co. will only have a limited number of invites for the party’s opening which be available to select shoppers of Gorilli Concept Store and the first 50 people on hand for the store’s opening on December 13th at 5:00 pm.

Pastelle Release Details

Many of you have been waiting to finally get an idea of when Kanye West’s brand Pastelle will be releasing first product. Today he informs us that first pieces of the collection will be released online in January. The first drop includes the jacket from the AMA’s, the hoodie that he was wearing at the Dior fashion show earlier this year and the jacket that you see here above.

Furthermore he gives us information on his upcoming sneaker releases. The much hyped Air Yeezy will be released in March 2009 and Kanye also seems to be working with Louis Vuitton on a sneaker collaboration. More on that as soon as we have more information!

Takashi Murakami Wraps Louis Vuitton 5th Avenue

Japanese artist Takashi Murakami has worked numerous times with French leathe goods brands Louis Vuitton. This Holiday season the artist will wrap the entire 5th avenue New York City store.

“Louis Vuitton on Fifth Avenue is being wrapped for the holidays by Takashi Murakami.

The French luxury leather goods company is erecting a vinyl installation this weekend that will cover the entire store in Murakami’s iconic Monogram Multicolore print for the house. The installation will begin going up today and will be completed on Sunday.

“The idea to wrap the Fifth Avenue maison in Monogram Multicolore came about earlier this year in an effort to do something truly unique for the holiday season,” said Daniel Lalonde, president and chief executive officer of Louis Vuitton North America. ” Via WWD.

Comme des Garcons x Louis Vuitton Pop-up Shop Opens

September 3rd, 2008 marked the opening of the highly anticipated Comme des Garcons x Louis Vuitton Pop-up Store in Tokyo, Japan where Japanese fashion editors and local celebrities were the first to purchase Rei Kawakubo’s designs for Louis Vuitton. The new Pop-up shop is situated in the fashion district of Aoyama and according to WWD, the interiors are true to Comme des Garçons’ spare aesthetic, with gray concrete walls and an exposed metal staircase. Steel boxes coated in LV-logo gold flock are mounted on the walls of the lower level. Prices range from 78,750 YEN to 194,250 YEN depending on the item. The store will be open to the public on September 4th, 2008 and will be around for three months.
