A couple of weeks ago we presented you the Mita x Asics Gel Lyte III “Kirimomi Project”, which consisted of two collaborations on the Gel Lyte III. Today Sneaker Freaker shows us two more collaborations by the two, once again on the Gel Lyte III, this time presenting two metallic colorways on the uppers, with accents in a polka dot design and some nice details on the mid sole.

The first Asics Gel Lyte III collaboration worldwide was created by Ronnie Fieg for David Z. in May of 2007. One year and 4 GT III collabs later, Ronnie has expanded his David Z make-up arsenal to many other successful collabs with numerous brands and has built a strong following around the globe. This time around Ronnie has decided to pull a style out of the Asics archives and work with the GT Quick. Despite other GT Quick releases popping up all over the net, Fieg was the first to work on this style designing this color-up back in September of ‘07. For the GT Quick release, Ronnie has teamed up with Complex magazine for an in store event. AT THIS EVENT RONNIE WILL ALSO LAUNCH A GEL LYTE III THAT HAS BEEN KEPT A SECRET AND AWAY FROM THE PRESS.
This Thursday at 9pm there will be a friends and family celebration in the newly opened David Z shop in Times Square. For the event and the first 50 in-store purchases on Friday, there will be a high grade white leather bag and a matching purple Asics t-shirt given with purchase, each style priced at $100.00. 200 pairs per style will be available to the public on Friday June 20th on Davidz.com as well as the flag ship store.

The Asics Gel Lyte III continues to gain interest worldwide and due to many high profile collaboration projects has become a popular sneaker these days. The latest one that we can show you, is with Japan’s Mita Sneakers. They worked with Asics on the Kirimomi Project, which consists of two Asics Gel Lyte IIIs.
One of the Gel Lyte 3’s comes in a black/purple colorway, with most of the upper coming in patent leather, the front also with polka dot details. The other one is more subtle and comes in all black, a mix of nubuck, patent leathers and mesh, and blue details. Both come with a sprinkled mid sole.
Mita will be releasing them on 12th of July.

Midsole changes to purple when hit with UV light.
For its upcoming collaboration with Asics, Solebox looked for something in addition to the usual dope colors and materials, Solebox include an interesting midsole that changes colors when its hit with UV light (sunlight). The upper features premium grey suede, ballistic nylon in the ventilation areas and 3M for the Asics stripes. Purple accents the upper on the lining, Asics stripes and of course the photochromatic paint used on the midsole. 250 pairs with the Solebox logo branded in silver foil will be available exclusively at Solebox in August 2008, while an unbranded version will drop globally at a later time.

From today, you can get your kicks from the world’s first ever trainer vending machine, created by Japanese sports fashion brand Onitsuka Tiger. It will be as easy as getting hold of a chocolate bar or a can of coke, as well as being the most convenient way to ensure your feet look good at all times. The latest advance in sneaker shopping comes after months of arduous design work by the Onitsuka Tiger team. The machine is made up of over 100 bespoke parts and can vend 24 pairs of trainers at any one time, in any of 6 sizes.
The trainer vending machine will be stationed just off Carnaby Street for three days only at the Onitsuka Tiger store between Monday 14th - Wednesday 16th April and all trainers from the vending machine will begiven away- so you don’t need to put your hand in your pocket at all. After making a star appearance in London, the vending machine will then embark on a national tour throughout 2008, starting in Manchester. Via SneakerFreaker.
