Releasing next month as part of G-SHOCK’s 2009 October releases are a two-pack of GLS-5600Ls. The watch’s construction looks similar to that of the iconic DW-5600 with the added benefit of increased weatherproofing over other iterations of the 5600. Availability begins next month at select G-SHOCK retailers.
For Fall 2009, Bape has once again collaborated with G-Shock on their iconic DW-6900 model. The watch comes in black and features a multicolor G-Shock logo on the case. It will be released in Bape Stores on August 23rd.
The 2009 August collection of CASIO G-SHOCK watches features the popular DW-6900 drop under the theme of “CRAZY COLORS”. Satisfying the need of some G-SHOCK fans wanting bright, bold colors, three styles include purple, green and blue. Available at select retailers in the month of August.
In time for summer, G-Shock is releasing their Glide watch in some fresh new colorways. The watch comes in turquoise and in hunter. Especially the turquoise style is very fresh for the warmer months of the year and perfect for the beach. Look out for these two styles to release this month.
Comprised of Casio G-Shock’s top of the line watches, the “Men in…” collection has seen previous instances including Men in Rescue Orange and Men in Ice White. This new February pack features the Men in Rusty Black theme which includes subtle metallic tones over the Mudman (G-9000MS), Frogman (GW-200MS) and Riseman (GW-9200MS). The pack releases starting February 12th at select Japanese retailers.
Hong Kong brand Subcrew has teamed up with Casio on four G-Shock watches with each colorway made exclusively for the four Unity stores located in Taiwan, Guang Zhou, Chang Sha and Shang Hai. These will be available on February 11th. There will also be an online store version which is yet to be seen as well as the SAMLEE edition which will not bad for sale.
Switching it beyond your usual 5600 and 6900 releases comes a new style for January from Casio G-Shock. The 7800 series incorporates the boxy shape of the 5600 with a larger dial. Many of the same functions you’ve come to expect are present including world-time, stopwatch, timer and LED backlight. Originally inspired by Rally Racing, the classic G-Shock Mudman is built to survive the most extreme environments. Features include a molded back cover and variable durometer urethane covered bezel and buttons to prevent foreign particles, such as mud, sand or oil from entering the watch.
Available in three new colors (Red, Navy and Gray), the Mudman features 200M water resistant, world time, dual auto EL backlight with afterglow, twin stopwatches, and count down timer. The Mudman also recently came in a special collaboration with LRG.

2008 was the year of the G-Shock, and it seems as though the brand is looking to pick up where they left off for 2009. The first LRG x G-Shock quickly sold out everywhere when it dropped; now the two heavyweights are getting back together for a limited watch that celebrates LRG’s 10 year anniversary.
Only 1,000 units of the rubber-banded watch have been made, and it marks the first time Casio has used the Frogman model for a collaborative project. Sure you might get all the streetwear-chick butt you’d ever want by rocking this on your wrist, but falling in line with G-Shock’s rep for quality functionality, the watch is 200m water resistant, and utilizes solar technology. Presented here a couple of weeks ago, the LRG 10th anniversary G-Shock Frogman has finally been released. No matter what you might think of LRG these days, the brand deserves congratulations for being 10 years in business and having opened this market to a much larger audience.
The said, the G-Shock Frogman came out really nice. It’s all white and feature a few orange accents, as well as LRG branding printed on the top and engraved on the back. Limited to only 1000 pieces worldwide, the watch comes nicely packaged and is now available here.
Japanese brand Finale Home and G-Shock worked on two watches. There is a white colorway and a black colorway, both coming in a simple design. The inspiration for the watches comes from rescue bracelets, stating the name and information of a missing person.

To celebrate their 10th anniversary, LRG once again gets together with G-Shock. This time they worked on their flagship model, the Frogman. Coming in all white, the watch features orange branding and comes in nice custom packaging. Via Kanyeuniversecity.

A fantastic new pack is coming from Futura Laboratories in collaboration with Medicom and G-Shock. They worked on a collaborative 100% Bearbrick and with G-Shock they worked on the 6900 large model. The entire pack comes in a multicolor colorway and both the Bearbrick and the G-Shock watch are branded with the Futura signature and with the Futura Laboratories logo.
The Futura Laboratories x G-Shock x Bearbrick pack will be released at the FL Shop in Tokyo in December.

After rocking MSG the night before Kanye West performed for a smaller gathering of the who’s who of the sneaker and streetwear industry at the Casio G-Shock 25th Anniversary. Of course Sneaker News was more interested in what Kanye had on his feet, sadly enough he was not wearing his Nike Yeezys instead he had on a pair of Christian Dior super high top sneakers (Thanks Sneaker John for the catch). In addition to his taste for super high top sneakers, he was surrounded by topless dancers for a good part of the performance.

With the 25th anniversary of G-Shock we have seen many collaborations on the classic digital watch. But if you go back a little, Bape was one of the first and only ones to work on them.
This time they created a navy blue G-Shock, featuring the Sta Camo around the screen. Just like the Bape x Rimowa suitcase, it will also be released in Bape stores in Japan on April 28th.
LRG got together with G-Shock to work on their classic. The outcome is a really nice boxset. The watch is white with all sorts of small details on the strap, backlight and the box as well. The watch is limited to 500 pieces worldwide. No matter if you are a LRG fan or not, we have to give it to them for this collaboration. It ranks right next to the Undefeated x Stussy x G-Shock collaboration.

A Bathing Ape has once again gotten together with G-Shock. This time the two brands released the DW-5600 model in a new brown Bape camouflage colorway.
Bape also released some great new plaid parkas, actually more like quiltd plaid shirts. The suede elbow patches are made up of the classic Bape head logo. As over-saturated as we are from lots of Bape styles and pieces, we still appreciate their simple and subtle pieces, because quality of the brand has always been on point.
